Bow making and my world.

It's never too late to be who you want to be.

Hello

Let me introduce myself briefly:

My name is Jürgen Polterauer and I have been an entrepreneur in the field of management consulting and digitalization for 25 years. In 2023, a management buyout made it possible for me to realize my dream.

For years I have devoted my free time to bow making and archery, and the fascination of the craft has continued to captivate me.

Last year the time had come: I had the necessary experience, the courage and also the support of my customers to go public and create Bogenbau Wienerwald.

… and that gives me the absolute privilege of turning my hobby and passion into my career.

For me, bow making is a place of creativity and perfection, where I can put my ideas and visions into practice. Where others only see mindless work after hours of sanding a handle, I see a new work that I want to be proud of.

I look forward to working with you to create a unique piece of art that reflects your dreams and ideas. Let's create a bow together that reflects your personality.

Always in a team.

Working method

The glass-laminated sheets, which I personally make, are produced on an area of around 100m2.

The workshop is a place to retreat and plan. And I have help with that: my assistant Mina, our cat, is always with me.

As is usual with cats, I have to stop planning, designing or other manual work when she feels she needs attention.

Only when machines such as belt sanders,

When dust extraction systems etc. are running it becomes too loud...

I also see my bow-making courses as teamwork. I lead the steps, but the collaboration is always on an equal footing. Ultimately, the journey is the destination: from planning to construction to the finish.

Only then have you created something special.

The workshop is also a place of retreat.

... and also a meeting point for visitors. I always have a cold beer, white spritzer or homemade elderberry juice.

And quite honestly:

I'm always happy to welcome you (spontaneously or by appointment) to chat a bit about the subject.
