Each bow is unique and is specially adapted and built to meet the needs of the archer.
I don't have any "ready-made bows". Why? Because I believe that others can do industrial production better. For me, the relationship between the archer and his bow is the most important thing.
I am often asked whether a custom-built bow is “better” than a bow from a well-known brand.
The answer to this is (typically Austrian): YES AND NO.
In terms of properties, material technology and purely performance values, bows from the series of a good brand manufacturer are at least as good and, in terms of the consistency of the series, certainly more precise.
BUT: A bow is more than a beautiful piece of glass, wood and maybe carbon.
The relationship with the bow, the knowledge that the bow is just as individual as you are, really changes your attitude and with it your enjoyment and, as a result, your accuracy. Archery is also mostly metal sport and training and so it does matter what you shoot with.
A cook once explained to me: "An excellent dish starts with excellent ingredients." I see it similarly when making bows. That's why I've put a lot of thought into sourcing materials. Quality, short delivery routes and sustainable production are more important to me than penny-pinching and convenience. I'm happy to drive a few kilometers further if the materials have been produced in a more climate-friendly way.
And yes, glass-laminated sheets contain fiberglass and epoxy glue. So it's not completely "organic" (yet).
In the "Design & Configuration" section I show all the options that need to be discussed when placing an order. So that it becomes a real, individual piece of sports equipment from Bogenbau Wienerwald.
There are currently two basic arch shapes in the range.
Longbow "KIWARA" and hybrid bow "HAWARA".
The former combines all the longbow properties with maximum shooting stability. The hybrid feels more agile due to the reflex/deflex ratio.
Both bow shapes are also available as a children's version "GSCHRAP"
A short hunting recurve called "SCHNAKERL" is currently in progress.
Due to the limb designs with motifs, the development and testing before market readiness is somewhat more complex.
3 day workshop to make your own bow.
