Preliminary meeting in person or via video call:
Your personal challenges and expectations are the focus of the initial consultation. Bow type, material & design, draw weight, draw length, etc.
Day 1 in the workshop and on the course:
We start at around 9 a.m. in the Vienna Woods, near Alland in my workshop with the assembly of the wood. Then comes the cutting and gluing of the blank and fitting it into the arch shape. This will take up the morning.
Now comes the gluing and to make use of the waiting time during the drying process, it is recommended that you try out a 3D course nearby together in the afternoon.
Day 2 Crafts in the workshop:
Together we will work your new bow out of the blank and trim it to the right draw weight. Now the tips are glued on and the big sanding begins. Then the individual handle is made and of course adjusted exactly to your hand.
Next comes the tillering of the bow - a process to ensure that your bow looks its best when you shoot it for the first time. The addition of string notches, fine sanding and the first surface treatment take place towards the end of the day.
We complete the remaining work from the previous day, take care of the finishing touches and build a precisely tuned string - then the bow can be shot in. At the end, your bow will receive the desired surface treatment: either a multiple wax treatment, or, if desired, the good piece can also be handed over to a professional varnisher.
